Pros: - very nice beach - many a la carte restaurants free of charge - nice lobby area with bar & cafe to sit and relax - if there's roomavailable option to late checkout for small fee - nice pool

Cons: - very little ameneties in room. No extra towel, no new conditioner after the first one was used up. Nothing extra as you would get in similar allinn's - the staff was extremely unkind and was expecting a tip for literally everything. Even the towel guy! I went to thr poolbar to get myself a coke and was treated rude cause usually people from the States tip for every drink so they expect you too. Issue is I don't want to tip just yo get them smiling to you. It should be the other way around: you tip because you get a good service. - open buffet restaurant was limited in choice - aquapark is located far as it is shared with 5other riu hotels, our kids didn't like the slides either, so it was an unnecessary walk in the end - no lifeguards at the pool or sea Summarized, when compared to all in hotels in other countries I found this one below the average. Itwas not bad, but was less than others.

Good overall experience with a few considerations

The staff was good. Food options were great. The parties were good too. I appreciated the thoughtfulness after the initial nonresponsiveness of the hotel.

I hated the quality of the room. The room is in need of an urgent upgrade. There were tacky patch work that was such a turn off. My clothes got bleached out and damaged when I visited to the wellness and spa center. Apparently they just cleaned the pool with chlorine and didn't provide a warning. I hated the initial non responsiveness of the hotel. I hated the hustling on the beach. I couldn't enjoy the beach in peace. My biggest turn-off was the experience in the room. I wouldn't spend a day there. This was my first time visiting a hotel and not ordering room service.

My stay at RIU Bávaro was quite nice. I would gladly recommend it to friends.

Breakfast was very good and so was the service.

The Television service could be improved. I tried to get CNN news and a premium movie channel like HBO but to avail.

Wonderful

Checking in and out was great. Rooms were very spacious but could do well with some upgrading. Staff is very efficient and friendly food options were great. If you miss a meal there is always the pool side restaurant or sport bar to get something. Overall, our stay was a good one. I would definitely recommend it

Enjoyed my time except for the fact that someone, im going to have to assume a cleaning lady stole my credit card (out of room as I never left the resort with it) and spent $50 at a local meat shop and $30 at a gas station

The perfect stay for a family holidays. Highly recommended.

We like everything in general. When we arrived our expectations weren't very higher but the staff, the facilities and the food make us to change our initial thought. We had a problem in our room and the staffbin the lobby was kind and quick to change us to a different room.

To be honest everything for us was perfect.

It was okay… few changes could be phenomenal

I like the fact that they had options for dinner and it was good if you dont eat pork make it known. The all white RIU party was awesome !!!.

The rooms could use a lil updating(fresh coat of paint and rust remover) and could offer more tv channels that work. The first night lights went out for 20 mins and the front desk didn’t seem to care and the another day the water didn’t work for half of the day and not really much going on during the day beside the pool or (day Riu pool party) and I didn’t like how they say we have access to the other hotels but when I went the bar at the other hotel I was told to go back to my hotel. But then I seen the same ppl where I was turned away from at my pool / hotel I could understand. The casino was closed !

2.5-star experience overall here at Riu Bavaro Palace

The beach was very nice, the RIU Parties were a hit & having all the other Riu hotels on the same property was great because this Riu Palace Bavaro was the least pleasant of all of them. The entertainment was so horrible at this resort, probably one of the worst I have seen. It was boring plus it was in pure Spanish, so if you don't speak or understand Spanish you won't enjoy it. They should do some entertainment in English mixed so it is more interactive for the crowd.

I have stayed at the RIU in Panama which was top-notch, food, service & entertainment. The hospitality was so good I was hoping for a similar experience at the RIU Palace Bavaro however it was day & night different. I found the variety & quality of food was not that big, and there were also too many similar items each day. The hospitality was lacking in the whole resort. Of the hundreds of employees, only 3 people were friendly and everyone else never looked at you or even said hi. Bartenders looked upset or grumpy when serving drinks, especially one of the girls in the lobby bar, it made me feel uncomfortable to ask for drinks even though we had paid for the drinks as our all-inclusive, the employees acted like they were giving us drinks for free. The hotel is going under renovation in 2024 and definitely needs it. Our room had rust all over the mirrors, under the fridge, in the washroom, showers, and on our ceiling fan. The balcony door was stuck and hard to open, everything looked so dated. They did switch our room and everything was also rusty there. Our room had other people's hair on the bed, around the jacuzzi, and under the bed was so dirty that it hadn't been swept in over a year. The pillows & sheets smelled bad, we had to ask to have them changed after check-in. Every day we wanted the rooms cleaned nothing was stocked up in the fridge or coffee. We put the room cards on the bed to change the sheets and pillows as stated but they weren't changed unless we had to ask someone to come in and change them. For the money we paid, it was just way overpriced. I had originally booked a new resort on the same beach for less cost, cancelled & booked this resort & definitely regretted it after the experience. This resort is passable if you find a cheap deal on it & you will spend most of the time at the beach. The Riu Palace Punta Cana is more worth your money or any of the other Rius located in the same complex.

The pool was not clean during the day , the water was cold while showering and would rarely get hot . The hot tub does not work .when I told the front desk they said they would send someone up but no one came . The food sucks there was good duck and fried chicken that’s it . Which was only served 1/4 days I was there . I ate off the resort from morning to night because the food was horrible . The drinks are decent , they try to make you what you want if you request it . The atm is a very far walk off the resort if you need cash . The riu party was filthy . It was full of people squished together , the dj was terrible , it’s very over rated . I stayed at the party for 15 mins that’s it . It was not worth more than that unless you are very bored . The staff was very nice

The facility had a odor. Smelled like sewage. The toilet wouldn’t flush twice and had to be repaired. The water wouldn’t go down in the sink. The food was not good snd I saw a roach crawling around the taco shelf. I alerted the staff and they didn’t seem to be surprised by it.
